The Four-Hour Approach to invesigating if Facebook ends on March 15, 2011.

with one comment

Facebook ends on March 15, 2011. This reminds me of the Y2K scare. (If you’re reading and don’t have a clear idea what the Y2K scare is then I’ll tell you. It’s basically a scare that back in 1999 that all the computers will crash because when the “Y2K” (Year 2000 – I just got that now. Yeah, I’m late.) bug will tell the computers that it is year 0 and when that happens. We’re back to the Wild West. However, as you can see. That didn’t happen.
Y2K
Now, Facebook is just like Y2K scare. Many people only talk to the people on Facebook, only get girlfriends on Facebook, or only have a Facebook business (ESPECIALLY THE INTERNET MARKETERS!) are truly worried about this. Especially me and so that’s why I did research on this. Facebook affects me greatly (and it’s a shame that it’s gotten to that point….) so I decide to investigate this story and get down to the bottom of it.
Facebook shuts down?
First, I looked at all the panicky blogs and look at the still videos of Mark Zuckerberg announcing the end of Facebook as we know it. Then, I wondered why was this a still picture used a YouTube movie instead of Mark actually talking about it. Then, I clicked around and found a few blogs saying that it was an internet rumor. The Facebook Director didn’t know who started it but I soon figured it who the culprit was: The Weekly World News. It’s a news site that tells false stories in a comical sense. This was intended to be a joke but panicky Facebookers threw themselves into a panic and spread the joke like it was actual real news! It’s heard to take a news source source seriously when they post articles about George Clooney running for president in 2012 and alien spacecraft landing here in 2011.

I did all that under 15 minutes. I followed the “reduced information diet” on the 4-Hour Workweek. I knew the book was great and all but I had no idea that it can debunk a silly internet rumor in 15 minutes. From creating the lifestyle you want to starting a movement, the 4-Hour Workweek proves to be the new business bible.

Can’t someone else do it?

Last year, I jumped into business with hopes and dreams that my business will be so successful that I will never have to work. Well, I was wrong. So incredibly wrong. Turns out that a lot more to creating a business than I realize. Gosh, darn but every once in a while I learn something new.

One thing that I have learned was that it’s better to outsource the things that take up too much time. Do you have more important things to do and you will say…why yes, you do but you have to do this. Otherwise, your business will fail. Well, I got news for you. That’s not really a business but more of a job that you created. How does it feel? You can’t get fired because you’re the boss.

My plan is to no longer be the guy who works for himself (…or anyone else for a very, very long time.). It’s better to be the owner who’s looking for a qualified president to run your company. You can come in at any time you like and look around because, after all, it’s your company.

Just beware, though. Do you really want yourself working all day and all night (for a very long time) because your company will not allow you to or would you rather hire someone else to do it? I rather hire someone else.

The first time I realized I have the power to change my life…

I wrote this a while back in my high school days. As you can see it’s always in the “I” because it’s more of an entry. Without further ado, here is my journal:

Over the summer, my summer was just eventful. I broke my toe, almost got robbed, and had a red-eye for weeks! The good thing was I (almost) meant Clint Eastwood. I rode my bike from Detroit to Waterford (that’s 40 miles.) I met this nerdy girl who lives in Farmington Hills, She’s a senior so I will be going to my prom soon…. The world needs more nerdy girls…lol.

I took this life- and it completely reversed my thinking. I don’t believe in soulmates…but I do believe that anyone can overcome approach anxiety because society teaches it. I learned about openers, bantering, storytelling, rapport, and kino. I also learn about value (no one is willing to put up with anyone that only takes away value.) and avoiding the pick-up persona. I like this way of pick-up because it’s sincere. I know this works and I’m improving because last year, I spent my summer having a serious crush on Olivia Hawkins but now this summer, I had 2 girlfriends. Also, one of them said that I knew her better than most of the people in her life. (that’s rapport!) This is great because this is all I ever wanted: be more successful in social situations while still being me. Also, Gentry (the guy who was sex-crazed with the cello.) is going to be my apprentice but I am going to be teaching him what I know. Picking up is what I do because I want to pick-up everyone’s moods and days up. (Guys included..not in a gay way..)

I also met a fellow writer and I signed up to an acting company. They say they handle concessions so they handle concessions so hopefully, I get paid.

That’s been my summer!

When’s the first time you realize that you had the power to change your life?

How To NOT GET LONELY while you’re working online

with 2 comments

Apparently, I am starting to notice a trend among people who decide to take upon the “internet marketing” oath. I see this everywhere and so many internet marketers (and sometimes affiliate marketers) are alone working on the computer. Why do they choose to be alone? Is it a matter of efficiency? Do you have to choose between friends or the lifestyle?
Frankly, even if I live the lifestyle I want I can’t quite see it doing it alone. Traveling the world alone. Skydiving alone. Staying home alone instead going to work like everyone else.

Nope, I don’t see that happening. Perhaps, business isn’t for me. Perhaps, I don’t have to choose. Yeah, I don’t choose between anything of it. I incorporate both. It’s what I do. I refuse to choose between my friends and my business because there’s no need to. I am still studying people and do continue with full intent to better my skills with people. It would be a slap in the face if I just up and stop that. Slapping myself. I utterly refuse that.

How do I do that? Are you forgetting where you are? You’re online. (You have to be in order to read this.) That means you have an advantage compared to someone working back before there were computers. You can go on Facebook and start poking random people. You can send random message to someone (or everyone.) In Twitter, you can send Direct Messages and mention people (using @followingtheirTwittername). You can even go on YouTube and comment on the videos and join groups.

In fact, you are alone as an internet marketer then you’re probably not marketing right. You are supposed to engage people and tell people about your product, your site, your opportunities. Money will always involve people and therefore, don’t stay there at the computer “working.” There’s a time to plan but there’s also a time to engage people. If you’re still alone then it’s time for you to engage people.

Is FaceBook Really Just For Play?

with 3 comments

I always got angered every time someone who tells me that Facebook is only for play. They tell me that Facebook is a waste of time and that I can spend more of my time doing something actually productive. In case you haven’t caught up to speed but Facebook is PRODUCTIVE depending how you use it!

For most people, Facebook is a place to connect with friends but for marketers then it is a marketing tool. Why not use Facebook? Most of my traffic comes from Facebook. It’s easy relatively to spread news about your news, updates, offers, and yes even products to your friends. (If you play your cards right then they will be indeed interested.)

You need one.

Do You Have a Facebook? Go get one now.

#1. It’s easy to build STRONG RELATIONSHIPS with people on Facebook (if you see them more than a paycheck.). People love interacting with people. No computer can take that away and if you can’t beat them. Join ’em or in this case, incorporate it. So, if you’re buying a product from someone…wouldn’t it make sense to talk to the C.E.O and wouldn’t be better that he talk to you like a real person. Yes, it would and you know that.

#2. The Pay-Per-Click is MUCH MORE ACCURATE than Google. Unlike Google, which just separates random ads that you automatically ignore. Facebook allows you to take part to decide if you actually like that ad. In case you’re wondering where the market is going, IT’S ONLINE and INTERACTIVITY. People like interacting with people and today, programs. But guess what, it gets better. When you start clicking “Like” on the ads then suddenly the ads you want to see are targeted towards you. I “Liked” ads containing financial education and entertainment. Now I have Kevin Hart sending me ads about his upcoming DVD and shows. So the marketing is much, much more precise…and that’s great when you’re a marketer.

#3. Besides that it’s easy to find your market and the fact you can interact with them. You can set up that as your mailing list. Some people (but not a lot) check their e-mail but you have a list of people just waiting to hear from you and waiting to see what’s new with your group. You can’t compete against a 26-year-old C.E.O and his 500 million friends but you can join them and gather an army of followers, hopefuls, and dedicated fellows who tune in just read what you have to say in a group, a page, they might even read about you.

Is Facebook really just for play? You tell me.
